Week 12: 7 good reasons to start Partner-Yoga !

Kia Ora,

We hope that you enjoy this practice and that you have quickly adopted it. If you haven’t yet, here’s an article that might motivate you to start now!

We feel it is important to highlight our main activity in our daily lives: Partner Yoga. This discipline is still very little practiced. As yoga has become more and more widespread, it remains a relatively individual practice and personal work.

Why should we start Partner Yoga ?

Partner – Yoga is a fun and original Yoga discipline. Are you ready to start your Partner-Yoga Practice ?

Here we share with you the 7 good reasons to start practicing Yoga as a Couple:

1. Share a moment together

After a long day at work without seeing your children or your partner, yoga is a quiet activity to come together and share strong energetic connections with your session partner.

2. Physically bond with your partner

Partner yoga involves physical contact with your partner. It is not about doing a session with two people on their own mat with a delayed practice rhythm, no, no, no! Physical contact during this time multiplies your sensations and feelings. Energy moves from one body to another.

3. Stimulate your creativity

Sharing this moment can be intimidating during the first few sessions, but you’ll soon find that you’ll pick up the initiative very quickly. You will create your own postures and stretches that make you feel better. You and your partner are free to create your own poses together. (while still listening to your body and your partner’s, that’s key).

4. Play (but not only)

In our adult life we forget to have fun and our childish soul hides behind our responsibilities to such an extent that we forget it. I’m sure it happens to you too…

Personally, we take this practice as a game, just like Acro-yoga. Yoga as a couple is a happy activity that we enjoy sharing with FRIENDS, the moments of laughter are numerous, believe us.

5. Refocus

It’s a great way to calm down and help you refocus if your partner is calm and quiet and your attention wanders to chores around the house (it happens to me too). Your energy will connect with that of your partner to find your inner calm and enjoy the moment, ignoring the “responsibilities” even for a while hehe.

6. Overcame your limits

It is true that in our respective yoga practices we do not push our limits far enough. Working on positions and stretching together helps us to see further, to dare and try new things. The emotional relationship that is created between the couple encourages you to go a little further in stretching knowing that the other is there to guide you and assure you.

7. Increase your confidence

Trust is built, we do not give our trust to just anyone. Building this trust step by step with your partner will only make your relationship grow. Partner yoga also helps our self-esteem and self-confidence. Teamwork helps us value ourselves as individuals and as a team.

Great, now you know a bit more about this great physical and fun activity! I’m sure you’ll want to get in on it here! In fact, it’s a blast, you should…
